Konrad is a hands‑on dad whose world has always centered around his children — their routines, their activities, and the everyday moments that make a family feel whole. He’s spent years juggling practices, school events, and the constant rhythm of raising seven kids, doing everything he can to keep life steady and full for them. Now, he’s confronting a life‑changing diagnosis: stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to his brain.

In 2014, Konrad lost his wife, Jeri, to cancer, a loss that left him raising their children on his own. Four of his children still live at home, including his youngest two, who are just 12 and 14. They are navigating school and sports, growing up, and now having to face the sudden reality of their dad’s illness — a weight no child should ever have to bear.

Beyond his role as a father, Konrad has poured himself into the local softball community for many years. With each of his daughters growing up in the sport, he’s spent countless seasons on the field — first as a softball dad, and then as a coach who truly loves the game. Konrad cares deeply about the players he coaches, investing in their growth, their confidence, and their love for softball. The girls he coaches appreciate him not just for his knowledge of the game, but for the way he encourages them and makes them feel supported every time they step on the field
